What a week
On Wednesday we had our first Polishing Party, and several girls showed up for varying amounts of time. The highlight, I think, was local jewelry designer Sarah Applegate. She came to speak for 20 minutes and stayed for 2.5 hours! She seemed to be thoroughly enjoying herself -- she found chinese turqoise, "mutton fat amber," and imported Italian 14K gold amongst the "junk" in our donation boxes. The "junk" happens to be very fun costume jewelry ranging from $.10 to $5. She brought along her portfolio to show us the range of work she does, which is really impressive. The attendees were duly impressed with her knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm for jewelry.
After the PP, I came home and Matt and I talked to his parents about having the wedding at their house. We all agreed that it was more stress than it would be worth, and have finally decided to have our wedding in the Bloomington area. So, today we signed a contract with a wedding planner who I think will do a really great job. It looks like we'll be getting married sometime in late May. Next step - pick a venue!
Today I feel very lazy, but I need to get my office cleaned up and some loose ends tied up before I leave for L.A. tomorrow morning! i'm sooooo excited to see Kiirstin, Jabbar, and my friend Nick. Nick has cleared his schedule as much as he can for my visit, and since i haven't seen him in...2.5 years? I'm so excited!
KK has agreed to look at wedding gowns with me -- hooray! We all know that if something gets the KK stamp of approval, you can rest assured you look hot and classy!
Anyhow, tonight there is a "philosoparty," so i best get my act together in my office!
